History
In
1988, CV Products was formed with the purpose of supplying the needs of racers
on a regional level. Clyde Vickers opened CV Products in April 1988 with his
wife Ramona and one employee. CV Products was originally located in High Point,
North Carolina in a 1200 square foot building distributing six to eight lines of
products. Clyde’s focus initially was on
the Carolinas and Virginia, where the major race teams were located. CV
Products expanded with a second location in Mooresville, NC in 1996. The next year, CV Products relocated the
corporate headquarter to Thomasville, NC in a 30,000 square foot
state-of-the-art office and warehouse distribution facility.
As CV
Products grew, Clyde Vickers began to realize the company didn’t have control
of the quality of products being sold and decided to begin manufacturing parts.
In 1999, under the banner Motorsports Machining Technology, CV Products begin
producing racing parts. Shortly after, Motorsports Machining Technology
acquired Xceldyne Engineering and the business was relocated from California to
North Carolina under the name of Xceldyne Technologies. CV Products also expanded into other markets
such the Powersport industry within the last ten years offering racing parts to
the motorcycle, ATV, and UTV racers. In
2005, CV Products moved its Mooresville store to its current location in Talbert
Point 107 Overhill Drive Mooresville, NC 28117.
In August 2010, CV Products acquired certain
assets and inventory of Hutch/BSR. It
was through this acquisition that CV was able to enter the sportscar market,
expand its trackside support to racers across different market segments such as
NASCAR, Grand Am, ALMS, GNCC and increase its chassis part offerings and
commodity lines. Today, CV Products
distributes over 600 different product lines, manufactures racing parts, has a
