Thomasville, NC: If a silver medal in the best whip contest at last months X Games in
Los Angeles was not enough. Now nineteen year old rookie Australian
sensation, Jarryd McNeil will be going back to where it all started and
will compete in the last Lucas Oils AMA National Motocross round of the
year at California’s new Pala Raceway. Jarryd will be racing a Jay Clarke
prepared Racer X CRF450 project bike with help from Vertex Pistons, Hot
Cams, FMF, Dunlop, CV4, Cometic Gasket and QTM. Jarryd’s suspension
will be tuned by suspension expert Mike Battista of MB1 Suspension.
While Competing in the Pro Open Class against the likes of newly crowned national champion Ryan Dungey and countryman Brett Metcalfe
is another dream realised while staying in the USA for Jarryd who has
won Australian Junior National MX titles and had numerous top 10
finishes in both MX National and Super X championships in the past
before concentrating on freestyle.
The idea to race the
national was born at X Games when Jarryd spoke to Jay about wanting to
race on the big stage in the USA after competing at X Games 16 “ I am
just so stoked that Jay was able to make this happen for me, it is a
dream come true” said an excited Mcneil.
In the weeks
leading up to the event Jarryd will be coached by former AMA pro Casey
Johnson who hopes to be able to get Jarryd to the pace he knows he can
run at.
